Building a mosque and an Islamic center is well within the rights of the Cardoba Initiative. Muslims died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and Muslim citizens have the right to have a mosque where they want. But, they need to realize that building a mosque so close to ground zero will bring up wounds that have not yet healed. Even if the mosque ends up being built, there will be continuous tension. There are plenty of locations around NYC where the mosque and Islamic center can be built. Choosing a location so close to 9/11 was just a poor decision. As always, just because you can do something does not mean you should do something.
