Simply due to the fact that the more people you have in your country, the more people there will be that possibly choose to play cricket? And out of that larger number, you will have a better chance of finding cricketers with natural talent to be harnessed? If you compare the amount of kids who will play cricket in England as opposed to New Zealand, the numbers will far outweigh the NZ numbers. Probability at least shows that there is a better chance of talent being discovered in England.
